Health Insurance

IEE has secured insurance that meets the Department of State rules and regulations for J-1 visitors. Proof of sufficient health and accident insurance must be in accordance with the U.S. Government regulations. IEE currently utilizes the insurance services of Seven Corners and HCC Medical Insurance for our participant’s insurance.  

DESCRIPTION OF COVERAGE

A.  Illness and accident coverage:               $100,000 USD per illness/accident (Does not cover dental/optical)
    *Deductible:                                             $    50.00 USD or $250.00 USD per illnes 
                                                                                            *The deductible is the amount you are required to pay while at the doctor's office
B.  Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation:        $50,000 USD
C.  Return of Mortal Remains:                                     $25,000 USD
D.  Emergency Reunion:                                              $1,500 USD
E.  Accidental Death & Dismemberment:                     $5,000 USD


Seven Corners offers Optional Hazardous Sports Coverage:  Many participants may decide to purchase additional hazardous sports coverage for cover such accidents as (but not limited to) motorcycle/motor scooter riding, mountaineering (4500 meter limit), hang gliding, parachuting, bungee jumping, water skiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and snow boarding.

HCC Medical Insurance has hazardous insurance coverage included.

Insurance begins with the start date on your DS-2019 form and ends 30 days after the completion date on your DS-2019 form.
